About Oomii Co
Everyone is the designer of their own home.
Oomii Co is a small editorial project about designing kids' spaces well. We are not a studio that styles your house, and we are not a shop trying to fill it. We write the guides we wish we had when we were working out how to make a room that suited a child and still suited the family.
Where this comes from
Most advice about children's rooms falls into two camps. One treats a kids' space as a styling project, beautiful in photos and unworkable by Tuesday. The other treats it as pure storage, tidy but joyless. Real family homes live somewhere in between, and they keep moving as children grow.
Oomii Co exists for that middle ground. We write practical guides on playrooms, small spaces, calm corners, and furniture that lasts, with an eye on how a room actually gets used by a two-year-old, a seven-year-old, and the adults who share it with them. The aim is always the same: fewer rebuilds, less waste, and a space your family genuinely enjoys.
What we hold to
-
Your home, your call
There is no single right way to design a kids' space. A bright, busy playroom and a quiet, neutral corner can both be exactly right. We share the thinking and leave the taste to you.
-
Built for change
Children change faster than furniture. We favour rooms and pieces that shift purpose over the years, so you redesign less and live more.
-
Honest about cost
Some things are worth buying once. Others are fine to do cheaply or skip entirely. We try to be clear about which is which, rather than selling you the whole room.
Start with a guide
Everything we do lives in the journal. Begin wherever your room needs the most help, and build from there.
